FAQ

Common questions about the Annapurna Circuit Trek

The trek is moderate to challenging. Most of the trail is comfortable, but crossing Thorong-La Pass (5,416 m) is tough because of the high altitude. Good fitness and gradual acclimatization are important.

The best seasons are:

Autumn (Sept–Nov) – clear views, stable weather

Spring (Mar–May) – warm temperatures, blooming forests
Both seasons offer the best mountain scenery and safe trail conditions.

Not mandatory, but a basic trekking experience helps. Anyone with good fitness, regular walking habits, and the ability to handle long days can complete the trek.

You need two permits:

TIMS Card

ACAP Permit (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit)
Both are checked at various entry points on the trail.
