Chulu Far East (6,059 m) lies above the Manang Valley in the Annapurna region. It is a non-technical peak, ideal for climbers preparing for 7,000 m expeditions like Himlung, Baruntse, or Annapurna IV. The summit offers breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho, Nilgiri, and Manaslu ranges.
The journey begins from Jagat, following the famous Annapurna Circuit trail through Marshyangdi Valley. From Ngawal, the route heads to Base Camp (4,780 m) and High Camp (5,680 m) for the final summit push.
After the climb, the adventure continues by crossing the high Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), visiting the sacred Muktinath Temple, and walking through the Kali Gandaki Gorge. The trip ends with a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and a drive back to Kathmandu. Perfect for those seeking a rewarding Himalayan climb with Sherpa Mountaineering.
21 to 22 days – Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival in Kathmandu, you are warmly greeted by our Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions staff at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). SME representatives will assist then transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Visit UNESCO heritage sites: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 03: In Kathmandu preparation day for expedition.
On this day an opportunity for shopping essential equipments, gears, harness, crampons, ice axe with leash, webbing, cord, trekking poles, sleeping bag, headwear, footwear and other stuffs. In the meantime Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions staff will obtain necessary permits and papers for the expeditions. There will be a special meeting in the evening regarding pre-expeditions discussion with all our fellow expedition staffs.
Day 04: Drive to Jagat (1,290 m) – 8 hrs
Drive via Besisahar following the beautiful Marsyangdi River valley to reach Jagat.
Day 05: Trek to Dharapani (1,920 m) – 5 hrs
Walk through forests, cross suspension bridges, and pass Tal village before reaching Dharapani.
Day 06: Trek to Chame (2,670 m) – 5 hrs
Trek through pine and oak forests with views of Mt. Manaslu. Reach Chame, the Manang district headquarters.
Day 07: Trek to Pisang (3,300 m) – 6 hrs
Walk along Marshyangdi River, apple orchards, and forests to reach Lower Pisang.
Day 08: Trek to Ngawal (3,650 m) – 4 hrs
Scenic trail through Ghyaru with amazing views. Notice drier landscapes as you enter Manang region.
Day 09: Trek to Chulu Far East Base Camp (4,780 m) – 5 hrs
Climb steadily to Base Camp with panoramic Himalayan views.
Day 10: Trek to High Camp (5,680 m) – 5 hrs
Ascend to High Camp. Prepare climbing gear and enjoy sunset views.
Day 11: Summit Chulu Far East (6,059 m) & return to Base Camp – 8 hrs
Early start for summit push. Use ropes and crampons on the final sections. Enjoy spectacular views from the top.
Day 12: Contingency Day
Extra day for bad weather or rest.
Day 13: Trek to Manang (3,450 m) – 6 hrs
Descend to Ngawal and continue to Manang village, known for Tibetan culture.
Day 14: Trek to Yak Kharka (4,110 m) – 4 hrs
Gradual climb through alpine landscapes with views of Annapurna III and Chulu peaks.
Day 15: Trek to Thorong Phedi / High Camp (4,600 m) – 4 hrs
Walk along the Jarjung Khola river and climb to High Camp.
Day 16: Cross Thorong-La Pass (5,416 m) to Muktinath (3,800 m) – 7 hrs
Early climb to the famous Thorong-La Pass. Long descent to sacred Muktinath temple.
Day 17: Trek to Kagbeni (2,858 m) – 4 hrs
Descend through Jharkot village to Kagbeni, gateway to Upper Mustang.
Day 18: flight jomsom to pokhara and sightsing
Day 19: Drive to Pokhara – 5 hours drive to budi Gandaki one of the deep valley beutifull apple farm trough budi gandaki river bellow Mt.Dhaulagiri.
Day 20: Drive to Kathmandu – 5 hrs.
Return to Kathmandu via scenic highway.
Day 21: Rest Day in Kathmandu
Relax, shop, or explore. Farewell dinner with the team.
Day 22: Final Departure
SME staff transfers you to the airport for your international flight.

Chulu Far East (6,059m) is a moderate peak, suitable for trekkers with basic mountaineering experience. The route is safe, and our climbing Sherpas guide you through technical sections.
The ideal seasons are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). These months offer stable weather, clear skies, and the best climbing conditions.
Basic climbing skills are recommended. If needed, our guides provide pre-climb training on using crampons, ice axe, harness, and fixed ropes.
The expedition usually takes 15–18 days, including trekking, acclimatization, and summit day.
You will need personal gear such as crampons, harness, ice axe, helmet, double boots, down jacket, and warm layers. All group climbing equipment is provided by Sherpa Mountaineering.
