Introduction:
Located in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary, Tent Peak offers tremendous climbing adventures beyond the limit of simply trekking. Tent peak, also known as Tharpu Chuli is a popular peak in the Annapurna region which stands at an elevation 5,663 m /18,575 ft and offers magnificent panoramic mountain views of Mid North West & Mid East Himalaya. This itinerary is designed for the climbers to provide a taste adrenaline surge in adventure with adventurous trek and climb to a less technical challenging peak one of the most moderate trekking peak in the Annapurna region, Tent Peak (Tharpu chuli) trekking to the most popular destination of Nepal to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and to its Sanctuary as well. The main challenge for this peak climb is the high altitude. Hence, amateur climbers who are physically and mentally strong can accomplish this climb without any climbing skills and previous mountaineering experiences which makes this peak even more popular among adventurer and mountaineers
The others highlight of this trek are fascinating Ghorepani and Poonhill trekking merged in this Annapurna BC and climb to Tent Peak. Day 19: Trek to Jhinu Dada 1,760 m /5,770 ft – 05 hrs.
Day 20: Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara -06 hrs walk 02 hrs ride.
Day 21: Drive back to Kathmandu 1,350 m / 4,428 ft. 220 k.m. 06 hrs journey.
Day 22: Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.
Day 23: Final international departure for home ward bound.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival in Kathmandu, you are warmly greeted by our Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions staff at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). SME representatives will assist then transfer to respective hotels.
Day 02-03: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour &preparation for the trip.
In Kathmandu sightseeing program includes visit of world heritage sites the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the world biggest Stupa; Boudhhanath, known as little Tibet, Swoyambhunath Stupa (monkey temple) located on a hillside one of the oldest religious spot of more than 2,500 years old and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with unique architectural temple, and the virgin Kumari known as Living Goddess in Basantapur at central Kathmandu. Kathmandu is not only naturally beautiful but it also holds the beauty of incredible Newar people culture with ancient architectures, next day final preparation for the expeditions buying and hiring of necessary climbing equipment and gear and paper works for climbing permits.
Day 04: Drive to Pokhara 823 m / 2,700 ft -06 hrs journey.
An interesting morning drive to Pokhara with grand views of rolling green hills and mountains, on leaving Kathmandu reaching at the highest point of Kathmandu at Nagdhunga then to the warm region with steady drive following the Trisuli River for few hours then heading west passing numerous farm villages and towns then ending today’s journey in the most magnificent spot in the laps of tall Himalaya in Pokhara with its pristine Lake Phewa.
Day 05: Drive to Nayapul,trek to Tikhedhunga 1,577 m / 5,173 ft – 04 hrs walk
After breakfast, a drive of 02 hrs to reach Nayapul which is west of Pokhara valley, from Nayapul, begin trek crossing a steel suspension bridge and continue to walk to reach Birethanti, a prosperous town situated in the riverbank of Modi River, the trail further climbs to the west that leads to the village of Tikhedhunga via Hille for the overnight stop after 3-4 hrs of good walking.
Day 06: Trek to Ghorepani 2,850 m / 9,350 ft -06 hrs.
From Tirkhedhunga morning trek starts with steep ascends on the long stone steps to Ulleri village through rhododendron and oak forest. The trail offers magnificent views of high Himalayans scenery after Ulleri the trek climbs on the gradual ups on the Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade route through the beautiful alpine forest till Ghorepani is reached for the overnight stop. As the altitude gains, this fascinating spot offers marvelous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range.
Day 07: Hike to Poon-hill 3,195 m trek to Tadapani 2,540 m / 8,332 ft – 06 hrs.
Early morning before dawn an hour hike up to Poonhill which is west to the village of Ghorepani, the trail gently climbs up via rhododendron and oak forest and brings you to mesmerizing spot at Poonhill. The stunning sunrise of early morning in Poonhill is completely breathtaking, with enough time to marvel this precious moment, this stunning spot offers panoramic mountain scenery from
Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, to Mt.Manaslu range including
Mt. Machhapuchare. Spending some moments on Poonhill, descend back to Ghorepani. Trek continues with a few ups and downs via rhododendron and oak forests and brings to another magnificent scenic village at Tadapanifor overnight stop.
Day 08: Trek to Chhomrong 2,210 m / 7,249 ft – 06 hr.
The trail drops through rhododendron and oak forest passing several unique landscapes. The trail further climbs uphill for half an hour and then reaching Chhomrong village the last permanent village from here onwards are Lodges just to cater to the needs of the trekkers. Chhomrung a large Gurung village with great views of magnificent mountain scenery.
Day 09: Trek to Dovan 2,580 m / 8,460ft -06 hrs.
The trail follows the Modi Khola and crosse the suspension bridge leading with a climb to Sinuwa Danda from here, the trail passes through thick and dark rhododendron forest up to Khuldighar. Then the walk leads to further descend and then climbs uphill through dark bamboo and rhododendron forest up to the area of Dovan for the overnight stop, a small spot with few lodges in the middle of the enchanting forest.
Day 10: Trek to Deurali 3,230 m / 10,595 ft- 04 hrs.
The trail gradually climbs uphill via thick bamboo, rhododendron, and oak forest. The trail further passes Himalayan lodge and crosses two small suspension bridges over glacial streams. then walk for a few hours to reach at Deurali for the overnight stop for the night. Staying in Deaurali helps slowly to acclimatize in this higher altitude.
Day 11: Trek to Machapuchere Base Camp 3,700 m / 12,135 ft 03 hrs.
Today a short walk with a gentle climb through a river bed and then the path leads to a steep climb over the mountainside at first. The trail crosses a ravine and passes through major avalanches area. The intense wind is the pre indication of avalanches. One has to be alert for safety. Walk on the icy trail at the last portion and reach Machapuchere Base Camp for an overnight stop with the closest view of the Machapuchere along with Annapurna I and Gangapurna mountains.
Day 12: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m/ 13,545 ft – 03 hrs.
After a good breakfast, start trekking on the uphill path heading for Annapurna Base Camp widely known as ABC. At this altitude, the vegetation fades away and the snow boulders are visible. The trail follows uphill for few hours passing few roofless shepherds huts along the side of a moraine and brings to the foothills of giant surrounding peaks at Annapurna Base Camp. For an overnight stop with fantastic scenery enclosed with mountains.
Day 13: Rest day for acclimatization at Annapurna Base Camp.
This rest day for acclimatization and to prepare for the climb of Tent peak, Sherpa Mountaineering Guides or leader will teach you some climbing techniques and skills, sharing all his knowledge, if you have any queries and confusion then, please do not hesitate to ask our guide. In case of any problem, let our team know so that we can take necessary steps further.
Day 14: Trek to Tent peak Base Camp 4,450 m / 14,600 ft – 05 hrs.
After a marvelous time at ABC walk leads to cross several snow-covered mountains path and straight on icy tracks for a half-hour to reach Annapurna South Glacier. The trail offers a grand view of high mountains, then trek for few hours till it reaches a flat area to set up the camp for the overnight stop at the base camp of the climb to Tent Peak, afternoon preparation for the climb and rest.
Day 15: Trek to High Camp 5,200 m / 17,056 ft-04 hrs.
Today follow the trail that makes a steep ascends along the rocky and icy glacier with a lot of boulders. Continue to ascend to high camp at the height of 5,200 m and enjoy the rest of the day with the sunset view over the massif mountains, with the final preparation for the climbing in High Camp.
Day 16: Climb to the summit of Tent Peak and return to Base Camp-06 hrs.
Leaving high camp, tackle the biggest day of this trip, this peak is of less technical skills but there are some sections where the support of ropes, crampons, and ice-ax is needed. So our expert guide and leader will fix rope where it is necessary for the strenuous ascent to reach the summit, on reaching the top after a vigorous climbing. The summit offers breathtaking views of the panorama of surrounding Himalaya, return to base camp via the same route for overnight stop after spending some moments in the summit.
Day 17: Trek back to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m / 13,545 ft- 05 hrs.
After breakfast, clean up the base camp and pack the gears, then trek to Annapurna Base Camp via icy trail. Walk normally for 04 to 05hours enjoying the panoramic mountain scenery.
Day 18: Trek to Bamboo 2,310 m / 7,575 ft -06 hrs.
Today a long descend trek back to Bamboo with the early morning’s magnificent sunrise over Annapurna mountains then gently descend through Machapuchhere base camp, Deurali, and Dovan. The journey to Modi valley is much easier than ascending to the base camp. Then finally reach at Bamboo a small place with 4-5 lodges in the middle of rhododendron and bamboo forest for the overnight stop.
Day 19: Trek to Jhinu Danda 1,760 m / 5,770 ft – 05 hrs.
On leaving Bamboo start trekking and pass a small place of Khuldi Ghar and then to Sinuwa following the stone steps that leads to lower Chhomrong, then it leads to a climb to Upper Chhomrong and gradually descends to Jhinu Danda for overnight stop located on hill ridge overlooking great views of surrounding rolling hills and landscapes about 30 minutes walk from here reaches to Tatopani ( Hot Spring) there are two pools where one can enjoy the natural warm water by the Modi River.
Day 20: Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara -06 hrs walk with 02 hrs ride.
After breakfast tackle, the last day of this great adventure descending downhill for a few hours and reaching Syali bazaar then continue trekking enjoying the charming natural beauty to reach Nayapul. Then drive back to the charming city of Pokhara, the second largest sub-metropolitan city of Nepal with several lakes Fewa, Rupa and Begnas, overnight in Pokhara by the lake Phewa.
Day 21: Drive back to Kathmandu 1,350 m / 4,428 ft 06 hrs journey.
Morning drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the great views of Himalayas over the top of the green hill a drive for 6 to 7 hours to reach Kathmandu concluding this memorable adventure with Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions on reaching Kathmandu check into the hotel.
Day 22: Free day in Kathmandu at leisure.
The last day of this great adventure trip with Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions and in Nepal today catch the last minute souvenir shopping with last night dinner with the group member and staff.
Day 23: Final departure for homeward bound.
