We provide enough acclimatization and practice before our final climb, starting with a trek to Everest base camp at 5,356 m high facing notorious Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers and with a climb to scenic hill at Kalapathar 5,545 m high with incredible views of Mt. Everest at close distance with adjoining giant peaks.
Our next adventure leads to our main highlight of the trip climb of Island peaks also called by local name Imjatse Peak taking an adventurous route to cross a hidden high pass of Kongma-la 5,535 m, located between Nuptse and Mehara Peak close to Pokalde peak and then reaching at the end of beautiful Imjatse valley at Chukung a small settlement.
From here our adventure leads due south east at Island Peak at 6,189m/ 20,305ft high, with climbing grade as PD + ( Peu Difficile / a little technical difficult and walking on glaciers) the grade used as per French / Swiss Alpine Climbing System and Classification. After a great triumph on top Island Peak feeling in high spirit overlooking tremendous panorama of surrounding high peaks as far to Baruntse and Makalu Himal range.
Our journey continues towards main trail to Dingboche and to Thyangboche Monastery back into tree lines and with a visit of Khumjung village, one of the largest villages around Khumbu area located on a glacial valley.
After a time at Khumjung heading towards North West on least traveled areas by other flow of trekkers to reach at Kyajo Ri after a visit of Thame and Lumde, which falls on route to Tibet border near high Nangpa-La pass.
Heading towards complete wilderness at Kyajo Ri base camp within adjoining peaks of Pharilapcha 6,017 m- Teningbo 5,839 m-Chhedan and Kapsale 5,583 m, Kyajo Ri one of the least climbed peak around Khumbu area with an altitude at 6.186 m high, the climbing grade is PD a straight forward climb of least technical difficulty, however use of crampons and ice axe are necessary and safety.
Finally our great adventure concludes with a climb of Kyajo ri with awesome views of surrounding peaks and then heading back to Lukla via Namche Bazaar for the sweeping flight to Kathmandu, after an overwhelming experience of a lifetime on Island Peak & Kyajo Ri Climb with Everest Base Camp trekking.

Detail itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
On arrival our staff will meet and transfer to respective hotel and brief you on the trip details with necessary information on Island Peak and Kyajo-Ri Climb with Everest Base Camp trekking.
Day 02: In Kathmandu preparation for Island Peak and Everest base camp trekking.
As per the program and (if booked earlier for the guided tour) our city guide will pick you from the hotel for sightseeing program which includes world heritage sites tour to holy Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the world biggest Stupa of Bouddhanath ( Little Tibet), and old Swayambhunath Stupa (monkey temple) with historical Kathmandu Durbar Square
This free day allows you to pack and checking climbing gear and equipments like harness, crampons, ice ax with leash, webbing, cord, trekking poles, sleeping bag, headwear, footwear and other stuffs with dinner and pre-departure briefing will be held.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla & trek to Phakding.
Approx: 35 minutes flight to Lukla 2,820m 9-10km (04 hrs walk) to Phakding at 2,652m.
Early morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport and board in a smaller twin otter or similar plane for sweeping scenic flight to Lukla, on arrival received by our trek and climbing guides. In Lukla you will have time to wander around, while the Sherpa crew sort and divide the load, lunch depending upon the time of arrival at Lukla either in Lukla or few walks further down on route to Phakding. The walk is gradual most of the way, with few ups with view of Kusum-Kangru 6,369m crossing a short suspension bridge, a short climb brings to the Ghat village, and another 11/2hr of gradual walk brings you to Phakding village for the overnight stop near the bank of the Dudh-Kosi River.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m 06 hrs.
From Phakding after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi the walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill and re-crossing the same river again, with magnificent view of Thermasarkhu 6,608m, then reaching a small village of Monjo after the last 20 minutes climb from the stream, after Monjo, comes to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, from here a short descend with a gradual walk to the Jorsalle village is reached, the last village and the only place to shop till Namche Bazaar is reached, a second bridge is reached over the same river, the walk is pleasant on the river bed till the last bridge over the Imjatse river is reached, from here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum Kangru Mt. Everest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak can be seen all the way up, from here another 1-2 hour walk up brings to the famed Namche Bazaar, the colorful houses are situated in an amphitheatre U shaped bowl.
Day 05: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar.
Suggested activities a short walk uphill to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter, a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snow capped giants and the valleys way down, with an interesting museum with all kinds of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region, afternoon at leisure.
Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m – 05 hours.
The walk is fairly easy for the first half, after a 20 minutes climb to the top ridge of Namche Bazaar. Once at the top walk follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, Thermasharkhu and Kwangde-ri peak after a pleasant walk of two to three hours coming at Phungitenga 3,250m, a small settlement with couple of teahouses and a small Nepalese Army barrack serving as park wardens in the midst of the alpine woods of mostly silver fir blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees. Walk from here is strenuous for an hour or two on the winding trail through the shade of woods till Thyangboche Monastery or Ghompa, is reached for the overnight stop. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak Amadablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east.
Day 07: Trek to Pheriche 4,240 m – 05hrs.
After a wonderful time at Thyangboche, the trail descend through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and rhododendron and coming to lovely spot at Deoboche 3,650 m with magnificent view of Mt Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse, from Deoboche walking past the long prayer mani wall, the path is gradual till you reach a small bridge over the narrow gorge of Imja-Tse river. From here the walk is gradual uphill most of the way, as you come to a large mani wall gate, a little farther from here the route leads to Pangboche at 3,900m from here a short climb to Shomare for lunch a small settlement with fantastic close-up view of Amadablam. After a pleasant break journey continues gradually towards east, after an hour walk, before a small wooden bridge the road splits into two ways, our walk leads beneath Taboche Peak facing north face of Amadablam, from the bridge the trails climbs slowly to reach at Pheriche village and its wide windy valley beneath Amadablam, Nuptse and Lhotse with view of the eastern snow capped mountains, Pheriche a beautiful patchwork of field enclosed by stone walls, protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals.
Day 08: Rest day at Pheriche for acclimatization and excursion.
At Pheriche enjoy another rest day with walk to Imjatse valley around Dingboche, the place with health post run by HRA (Himalayan Rescue Associations) a perfect spot for acclimatization before heading higher elevation to Everest Base Camp.
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.
After Pheriche, walk leads on flat trail into a windy valley for an hour and then climb for an hour to reach at Thugla (Dugla) a small place, located midway of Pheriche and Dingboche on route Lobuche, with super views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, and Amadablam. Thugla a popular lunch spot for people heading up hill to Everest base camp, after a lunch break an hour climb to a ridge called as Thug-la pass with many stone memorials of unfortunate climbers died on Everest-Lhotse-Pumori expeditions.
From this lovely spot an hour more of pleasant walk brings you at Lobuche on route Everest base camp.

Day 10: Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and walk to Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m – 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads on gradual trail with few short steep up gaining high altitude with superb views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest.
After few hours of scenic trekking reaching at Gorakshep after walking past moraine and glaciers, Gorakshep with few nice lodges for overnight stop, this isolated spot located beneath Kalapathar Hill and Pumori peak on route Everest base camp.

Gorakshep was the earlier and original base camp in 1950’s to 1970’s, from here our journey continues walking over moraines and glaciers trail to reach our main highlight of the adventure at Everest base camp.

Everest Base Camp located beneath notorious Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers, this super spot with immense views can be crowded during peak expedition season around April and May months, here enjoy surrounding views with Mt. Everest hidden behind high peaks of Lho-la and Nuptse.

After reaching our destination and one of the highlight of the adventure, return back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 11: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Lobuche – 04 hrs.
Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure with marvelous views of mountains including Mt. Everest at mere distance, after a great scenic moment descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk towards Lobuche for overnight stop. Afternoon rest and preparation for the last final pass of the adventure crossing over Kongma-la.

Day 12: Trek towards Chukung 4,730 m crossing over Kongma-la 5,535 m – 08 hrs.
After a great walk to Everest vase camp and Kalapathar, walk leads towards complete wilderness away from the main trekking area, walk follows over moraine and towards Khumbu glacier, on the zig-zag path walking carefully in case of fallen rocks slide, then climbing steeply towards the other side of the glacier near by the Nuptse Wall, near Mehara Peak (Khongmatse) and Pokalde peak by the base of Kogma-la at 5,200m.
From this spot walk leads towards top of Kongma-la at 5,535 the highest pass on this trip, walk leads higher up and then descending towards the glacial pond and the walk leads on the rocks and moraine path most of the way till Bibre is reached around beautiful Imjatse valley where the trails from Dingboche and Chukung joins.
After a hard day, from Bibre walk gets better as the trail leads towards Chukung with views of surrounding high snow capped peaks, on reaching Chukung for overnight stop in a nice cozy lodge, overlooking super views of of Lhotse, Amadablam and Imja glacier, Chhukhung the last settlement around east of Khumbu and Imjatse valley .
Day 13: Trek to Island / Imjatse Peak Base Camp 4,970m – 04 hrs.
After Chukung walk towards Imjatse valley to Parsya Gyab at Island Peak Base Camp, walk leads to a steep climb towards south over moraine of Lhotse glacier then follow a glacial streams to the snout of Imja glacier and cross a dry lake between Lhotse and Imja glaciers to reach at base camp at Pareshaya Gyab, afternoon free relax for short walks and practice climb.
Day 14: Rest day at Base Camp.
Necessary rest day for acclimatization and preparation for the climb of Island Peak, here check the climbing gear before climb of Island peak climb.
Day 15: Trek & Climb to High Camp 5,400m – 03 hrs.
After base camp, climb further up to set High Camp to make more approachable to reach the top of Island / Imjatse peak, normally climbers make it from base camp to the summit, but it is always safe and best adding more camp, morning leaving base camp with short day walk leads to high camp of Island Peak over moraine, scrambling up an open gully leading in between two well defined ridges and to high camp below a small hanging glacier at 5, 280m, afternoon with last and final preparations for the big climb next day.
Day 16: Climb Island Peak 6,189m and return to base camp – 06 hrs.
Final and Big Day for the ascent of Island Peak! After full preparations start before dawn climb across broad open gully, following snow-covered glacier, avoiding serac and crevasses climbing northwards over snow covered scree in the margin between a glacier of the top ridge.
Climb leads to cross a gully with some stone and icefall danger, a steep snow and ice ramp leads upwards for nearly 100 meters (300ft) to the summit, on reaching top fulfilling adventure of a lifetime experience with success with unmatched views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Amadablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks.
After an exciting and tough climb descend on the same route towards base camp.
Day 17: Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather condition.
A reserve as extra day for contingency, in case of unfavorable weather conditions some times in high Himalaya, weather can be unpredictable an extra day necessary, if all goes well can be used on the way back to Lukla with short day walk enjoying with the views along the way.
Day 18: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05 hrs.
After climb of Island / Imjatse peak, return journey to Lukla and villages, morning walk leads with few uphill’s over the moraine, then reaching at Chukhung with striking views of snowcapped mountains, after short rest continue to overnight stop at Dingboche in the comfort of nice cozy lodge and great mountain views.
Day 19: Trek to Thyangboche 3, 867 m – 05 hrs.
Return journey is much easier losing heights every hour, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge with an hour climb to Thyangboche for overnight stop,
a beautiful spot with an interesting and famous monastery overlooking magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.
Afternoon with time for tour of the monastery, which was burnt by accidental fire in 1991 at present back into normal form, where you can witness young monks and elderly priest and Lama on evening prayer.

Day 20: Trek to Khumjung 3,730 m – 05 hrs.
Walk leads downhill for an hour with steep climb for a short while and then on gradual trail reaching at Shanasa where the route to Gokyo-Khumjung and Namche Bazaar splits, from this spot a short climb to reach at glacial valley to our overnight halt at Khumjung village, one of the largest villages around Khumbu with only high school funded by Hillary Foundations, afternoon visit the oldest monastery of the area, where Yeti Scalp is preserved in a glass box, with some donation you can witness the Yeti Scalp with ginger colored hair.
Day 21: Trek to Mende 4,200 m via Thamo – 06 hrs.
A nice walk on pleasant trail into forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines trees passing small farm villages following Bhote Kosi River upstream to Thamo village, with small hydro project supplies electricity around Khumbu villages. From this village continue walk up hill to reach a ridge away from main trail in complete wilderness to reach at Mende, a small farm settlement with posh style lodge called Everest Summit Resort series of nice lodge where you can find in Lukla-Monjo and at Pangboche also, from Mende stunning views of Kongde series of peaks and of Thame village below.
Day 22: Trek to Kyajo-Ri Peak base camp at 5,150 m – 06 hrs.
Morning walk towards Kyajo Ri Peak area walk follows to a high ridge within windswept areas of following a small icy stream for a while past Yak herders summer pastures into complete wilderness.
From here onward, walk leads to arctic climatic zone and landscapes arid and barren terrain close to the route of Nangpa-la (an old salt trade route between Nepal and Tibet)
Our last adventure of the journey leads towards complete wilderness heading due north to our overnight camp at Kyajo Ri base camp on a wide meadow beneath the moraine and glaciers of Kyajo Ri.
Day 23: Rest and preparation for the climb of Kyajo Ri.
A lovely place for rest day away from mainstream trekking trails on the hidden pockets of Khumbu and Everest areas, this beautiful and scenic spot of Kyajo ri peak located on a high ridge with its adjoining peaks Pharilapcha 6,017 m- Teningbo 5,839 m-Chhedan and Kapsale 5,583 m.

Day 24: Climb to the summit of Kyajo Ri at 6,186 m high.
Starting early for last and final Big Day! Heading towards moraine and rocky areas of ice and glaciers following our lead guide, making ledges on ice and fixing ropes where necessary on some technical sections, as the strenuous climb leads higher and finally reaching to its summit with grand views of surrounding mountains with Kongde and as far towards west looking at Pachermo peak near Rolwaling areas and Tasi-Labtsa pass.
After a grand feat descend back on same route safely to base camp and relax the whole afternoon with last day of camping and in tents.
Day 25: Trek to Mende 4,200 m – 06 hrs.
Today an easy walk following the same trail back towards Mende near Thame village our route diverts higher to reach at Mende for overnight stop, and back into human settlement after few days in complete isolation from farm settlement and villages.
Day 26: Trek back to Namche Bazaar – 07 hrs.
Today back into civilization in the comfort of Namche Bazaar nice lodges heading downhill and then on gentle trail past Thamo and back into tree lines to reach at Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.
Day 27: Trek to Lukla – 07 hrs.
From Namche onward on downhill walk to Dudh kosi river bed with the last short climb to the National Park entrance and then reaching at nice Monjo village, from here on gentle trail to Lukla passing Phakding-Ghat village with short final climb to Lukla, on reaching Lukla celebrate with last night dinner party.
Day 28: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Most of the flight takes off in the morning time; a great scenic sweeping flight of 30 minutes reaches you at Kathmandu, and transfer to respective hotels with rest of the afternoon free at leisure.
Day 29: At leisure in Kathmandu for individual activities.
Time for some last minute shopping or sightseeing, or one can just relax in the Hotel. In the evening with a get together farewell party at the Hotel itself with fellow Sherpa guide and friends.
Day 30: International departure for home ward bound!
Today keep your passport and airline ticket handy our office staff will transfer you to the International airport for your flight back home or to respective destination from this amazing country Nepal.
